Open Source was a program run intermittently over the past few years where members worked on internal CodeLab projects, with mentors from within CodeLab.
This quarter we are excited to announce we are partnering with the nonprofit the Benevolent Bandwidth Foundation with advisors from Google, Capital One and Paypal to connect students directly with their open source projects.
Students will work in 4-5 person teams with biweekly meetings with the Benevolent Bandwidth Foundation.
One developer will be designated as the Technical Lead to ensure work proceeds smoothly between meetings.

CodeLab is a software and design agency at UC Davis, working on real-world projects in an industry environment. Many teams have the opportunity to work with established tech companies/startups and non-profit clients. In addition to developing members’ coding and design skills, CodeLab seeks to build a stronger community across disciplines in technology at UC Davis, where students can learn from each other and grow.
